5 trends for weddings in 2019

The Christmas and New Year period are primetime for engagements. Lots of people get down on one knee and propose to their beloved, and many of those lucky people say ‘Si’!

So what are some big trends that will influence weddings this coming year? What should you consider for your big day if you want to do something fun and fresh?

1. Grazing tables
Gone are the days of the alternate drop – say hello to the beautifully styled grazing table. The upside of a grazing table is that you can ditch allocated seating altogether and have a more casual seating arrangement. A grazing table can cater for most dietaries and we guarantee that no-one will go hungry if you organise a Food Adventura grazing table – it’s just not the Spanish way!

2. Sangria stations
Sangria stations are huge at the moment. Create a white and a red sangria station and let guests help themselves. You can even make a virgin ‘sangria’ with non-alcoholic wine or juice for non-drinkers.

3. Live cooking stations
Following on from the trend towards less formal wedding parties, a lot of couples are opting for live cooking stations offering dishes like BBQ, roasts, sushi and paella. It creates a sense of theatre and means that the food is super fresh and fast.

4. Cake alternatives
Elaborate white cakes layered in royal icing are a thing of the past as most couples opt for a small cake to cut, as well as a range of desserts such as cannoli, churros with chocolate, dessert buffets and even ice cream trucks and gelato stations.

5. Late night snacks
The dance floor is raging on so why not consider doing a few rounds of tapas later in the evening? Things like arancini balls, croquettes, patatas bravas and even toasted cheese sandwiches are a welcome treat amongst guests who have enjoyed the celebrations (and might want to ward off a hangover the next day!).
